From Portugal to the Nordic Skies: TEKEVER Establishes Its First Danish Hub

European defence technology company TEKEVER is expanding its footprint into the Nordic region, selecting Odense, Denmark, as the location for its first operational presence in the region. The move is designed to strengthen its relationships with Danish customers, research institutions and industrial partners while creating opportunities across defence, security and critical infrastructure monitoring.

The expansion comes alongside an investment commitment from EIFO, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, which has agreed to participate in the closing of TEKEVER’s $580 million Series D funding round. The financing was initially announced in September 2026 at a company valuation of $6.4 billion.

Odense Becomes Its Nordic Gateway

TEKEVER develops artificial intelligence driven autonomous systems for defence, security and civilian applications. Its technology includes unmanned aerial systems designed to collect intelligence, monitor environments and support operational decision making.

The company selected Odense because of its established drone and robotics ecosystem. The city offers access to specialist businesses, engineering talent and research infrastructure that can support the development and testing of autonomous technologies.

Key organisations in the local ecosystem include Odense Robotics, UAS Denmark’s International Test Centre, the University of Southern Denmark’s SDU Drone Centre and its Flight Lab.

TEKEVER is currently progressing the establishment of a Danish legal entity and the arrangements required for local operations. Its presence will be developed in phases, depending on customer demand, partnerships and regulatory approvals.

EIFO Joins the Company’s Investor Base

A major part of the announcement is EIFO’s decision to participate in the closing of TEKEVER’s existing Series D financing.

The Danish institution supports businesses and investments that contribute to innovation, exports and industrial development. Its participation is intended to strengthen connections between TEKEVER and Denmark’s technology and defence ecosystem.

EIFO CEO Peder Lundquist said the investment would bring a leading European defence technology company closer to Denmark while creating opportunities for greater collaboration, technology development and Danish industrial participation.

For TEKEVER, the investment represents more than additional financial backing. It provides an opportunity to develop relationships with local suppliers, research organisations and potential customers.

Exploring Critical Infrastructure Protection

Beyond defence applications, TEKEVER plans to explore opportunities involving the monitoring of critical offshore energy infrastructure.

Northern Europe has extensive offshore energy assets, including wind farms, subsea connections and other installations that require continuous monitoring and protection.

Autonomous aerial systems can support surveillance by collecting information over large areas and helping operators identify potential security or operational concerns.

TEKEVER is already working with Danish partners and intends to explore how its dual use technology could support these activities. The company sees potential applications across defence, security, maritime monitoring and energy infrastructure protection.

Building a Connected European Network

The Danish expansion forms part of TEKEVER’s wider strategy to establish a connected European industrial and operational network.

The company already has operations across Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Estonia. Its recent launch in Germany established Munich as a strategic hub, while its investments in the United Kingdom and France have strengthened its engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

In September 2026, TEKEVER announced its $580 million Series D round, led by UC Investments and Baillie Gifford, with the company reaching a reported valuation of $6.4 billion.

The financing is intended to support international expansion, industrial development, technological investment and strategic acquisitions.

Strengthening European Technology Capabilities

For TEKEVER, establishing a presence in Denmark is part of a broader effort to build closer relationships with European customers and industrial partners.

CEO Ricardo Mendes said the company would develop its Danish operations gradually, responding to demand and regulatory approvals while contributing to local technological and industrial capabilities.

With EIFO joining its latest funding round and Odense providing access to Denmark’s established drone ecosystem, TEKEVER is positioning the country as an important part of its expanding European autonomous systems network.
