Ghent based HR technology company talentguide has raised €1.3 million to accelerate the European expansion of its AI driven skills intelligence platform, as organisations across industries struggle to keep pace with rapidly changing workforce demands. The funding round brings together a mix of institutional investors, strategic partners, and experienced entrepreneurs, reflecting growing interest in solutions that help companies understand and develop their people in a more data driven way.

Tackling the growing skills visibility gap

Automation, digitalisation, and changing business models are reshaping the skills companies need faster than ever before. Yet many organisations lack a clear overview of the competencies already present within their workforce. This challenge is particularly acute for blue collar roles, where skills are often learned on the job and rarely documented in a structured way.

Talentguide was founded to address this gap. From its base in Ghent’s Wintercircus innovation hub, the company focuses on helping mid sized and large organisations gain clarity on existing skills, identify future needs, and guide employees through upskilling and reskilling journeys. The platform is designed to work across both operational and office based roles, enabling a single skills language across the organisation.

AI powered skills intelligence built on real data

At the core of talentguide’s approach is an AI driven SaaS platform that uses natural language processing to structure skills around tasks, traits, and knowledge domains. Rather than asking companies to start from scratch, the platform builds on data they already have.

Talentguide analyses unstructured internal data such as CVs, job descriptions, work instructions, performance evaluations, and connected systems. From this information, it creates a skills based job architecture and maps current employee competencies. According to the company, this allows organisations to generate meaningful insights from day one, without long implementation projects or costly data clean ups.

The platform also supports personalised employee development and performance management. By understanding the skills profile of each individual, talentguide can generate AI based development plans aligned with both personal growth and organisational goals.

Planning for the workforce of tomorrow

Beyond mapping current capabilities, talentguide helps organisations prepare for what comes next. The platform can forecast future skill requirements based on anticipated changes such as increased automation or evolving processes. This enables companies to plan reskilling initiatives proactively rather than reacting to shortages once they appear.

By linking future needs to existing talent, organisations can make more informed decisions about training investments, internal mobility, and hiring strategies. This approach is particularly valuable in tight labour markets, where retaining and redeploying existing employees is often more realistic than finding new talent externally.

Growing adoption across sectors

Talentguide is already used by a range of organisations including Travvant, MCC Verstraete, Banqup, Robovision, mtech+, and Syntra Bizz. These customers use the platform to support workforce development, improve transparency around skills, and align people strategies with business objectives.

The company positions its solution as pragmatic and accessible, designed to deliver value quickly rather than promising long term transformation without short term results.

Fueling European expansion

The €1.3 million investment round included participation from NXT II, Travvant, Miles Ahead Capital, imec.istart, the founders, and several experienced entrepreneurs. The fresh capital will be used to expand talentguide’s revenue, product, and engineering teams.

As part of this growth, the company plans to hire additional software and AI engineers as well as customer success professionals. The goal is to support a growing customer base while continuing to refine the platform’s capabilities.

With skills intelligence becoming a strategic priority for organisations across Europe, talentguide aims to position itself as a key partner in helping companies navigate workforce transformation with clarity and confidence.
