Roamless, a global connectivity provider, has raised $12 million in Series A funding to speed up the development of its borderless mobile connectivity platform and expand its offering beyond data-only eSIM services. The round was led by Rasmal Ventures, with participation from Shorooq, Revo Capital, Finberg, and JIMCO. Following this round, the company has raised a total of $18 million, after closing a $6 million seed round in 2024.
Founded to Eliminate Roaming Friction
The company was founded in 2023 in Türkiye and is now headquartered in the United States. Roamless was created by Emre Demirel, Ali Gazioglu, Asim Alp, Selim Aykut, Cagdas Yalti, and Cengiz Oztelcan with the goal of eliminating the complexity of switching SIM cards and managing roaming plans when travelling internationally—an increasingly relevant problem as the eSIM market accelerates.
A Single Global eSIM Across 200+ Countries
Roamless’ core product is a Single Global eSIM that works in more than 200 countries. Customers can choose between pay-as-you-go data plans or trip-based bundles, allowing them to stay connected without purchasing local SIM cards or paying high roaming fees. The company says it has already served over one million travellers and partners with companies across travel, aviation and financial services.
Owning the Telecom Infrastructure
Unlike many eSIM providers that operate as resellers, Roamless has built its own cloud-based, carrier-grade telecom infrastructure. This backend stack manages connectivity across hundreds of mobile networks through a single service layer, giving the company greater control over network quality, pricing and customer experience. The platform is also designed to support services beyond data, including voice, SMS and local phone numbers.
Preparing for Voice, SMS and Local Numbers
“These additional services will allow us to deliver a more complete mobile experience,” said Emre Demirel, CEO and co-founder of Roamless. The company plans to introduce local numbers, voice calling and SMS capabilities in upcoming product phases.
Riding the Global eSIM Adoption Wave
Industry data suggests strong tailwinds for the sector. According to GSMA, fewer than 20% of global smartphone connections used eSIM in 2024, but adoption could reach up to 88% by 2030 as device manufacturers remove physical SIM trays. As eSIM becomes mainstream, competition is shifting from basic data access to infrastructure quality, pricing flexibility and embedded services.
Scaling Coverage and Market Expansion
Roamless plans to use the new capital to expand network coverage, accelerate its global go-to-market strategy and strengthen customer support across major travel corridors. A key upcoming launch is Roamless Numbers, which will allow users to obtain local phone numbers in more than 20 countries for in-app calling and SMS.
Building B2B and Embedded Connectivity
Beyond consumer services, Roamless is investing heavily in B2B and API-based offerings. The company is developing integrations for airlines, airports, online travel agencies, banks and superapps, enabling them to embed mobile connectivity directly into their customer journeys.
Adding AI to Optimise Connectivity
Roamless is also rolling out AI-driven features aimed at improving network performance, lowering connectivity costs and surfacing relevant partner offers based on user location and usage patterns. At the same time, it plans to expand its workforce across regional offices in major global travel hubs.
Positioning for a Post-SIM Future
With fresh funding and a vertically integrated telecom stack, Roamless is positioning itself for long-term relevance as the industry moves toward a post-SIM world—where mobile connectivity is instant, embedded and borderless by default.
