Pixel Flow, a hybrid-casual puzzle title developed by Istanbul-based studio Loom Games A.Ş., has closed a seed funding round with participation from prominent angel investor Akın Babayiğit and European venture capital firm e2vc. While the amount of the investment was not disclosed, the round reflects strong confidence in the game’s early commercial performance and the long-term potential of the hybrid-casual category.

Rapid Growth After Launch

The investment comes just three months after Pixel Flow’s release, during which the game has achieved remarkable traction. The title has reached seven-figure daily revenue and entered the Top 25 of the US App Store Top Grossing chart, a milestone rarely seen so early in a game’s lifecycle. This rapid ascent underscores the team’s ability to execute efficiently across product development, monetisation, and scaling.

A New Take on Puzzle Mechanics

At the heart of Pixel Flow is a core mechanic designed to balance simplicity with strategic depth. The game combines intuitive tap-based controls with colour coordination and spatial decision-making, allowing it to attract casual players while still offering challenge and progression. This design approach aligns with the defining traits of hybrid-casual games, which aim to blend mass-market accessibility with deeper engagement loops.

Founders’ Background and Experience

Pixel Flow was created by co-founders Kübra Gundogan and Emre Çelik, an Istanbul-based team with prior experience in the hybrid-casual space. The duo previously worked on the mobile title Twisted Tangle, where they gained practical insight into product iteration, go-to-market strategy, and scaling free-to-play games.

Vision Behind the Project

According to Gundogan, Pixel Flow grew out of the team’s long-term focus on creating original mechanics rather than refining existing puzzle formulas. She noted that extensive analysis of player behaviour informed key design and progression decisions. The game represents a new creative and strategic direction for the studio, built around proprietary systems intended to support long-term growth.

Investor Perspective

Commenting on the investment, Babayiğit described Pixel Flow as a standout recent success from the region. He highlighted both the game’s strong performance metrics and the originality of its core mechanic, noting that these factors have generated significant interest across the global games industry.

Scaling the Hybrid-Casual Opportunity

Following the seed round, Loom Games has expanded its scaling efforts, with plans to invest further in user acquisition, live operations, and ongoing content updates. The team believes Pixel Flow demonstrates how hybrid-casual games can reach wide audiences while generating sustainable revenue, reinforcing Istanbul’s growing reputation as a hub for globally competitive mobile game development.
