$20 Million Fuels Veridion’s Mission to Modernise Business Intelligence

Business intelligence is moving beyond static databases as companies increasingly need to understand what is changing in markets, supply chains and commercial relationships in real time. Against this backdrop, business intelligence startup Veridion has raised $20 million in Series A funding to expand its AI powered platform, which continuously tracks and updates information on businesses around the world.

The funding round was led by Hoxton Ventures, with participation from existing investors Underline Ventures, OTB Ventures, Gapminder, Day One Capital and Launchub. The investment will support Veridion’s international growth and the continued development of its company intelligence infrastructure.

Building a Live Business Graph

Founded in 2019, Veridion describes its technology as a living digital replica of the business world. Its platform continuously resolves and refreshes company information rather than relying on periodic database updates. The company says its graph now covers 693 million companies across 250 countries and territories, reflecting its expansion since the platform began indexing businesses at scale.

The company’s approach is designed to address a common limitation of traditional business databases. Static datasets can provide detailed information about companies, but that information can become outdated as businesses open or close locations, change activities, launch products, alter ownership structures or respond to market conditions.

Veridion’s system instead continuously monitors evidence and re evaluates company records as new information becomes available.

AI at the Core

Veridion gathers information from a broad range of digital and public sources. Its infrastructure continuously collects web content, registry information and other public data, then uses language models to extract structured information and connect it to existing company records.

The process consists of acquiring information, extracting relevant business details, resolving entities and refreshing records when meaningful changes are detected. Veridion says its system crawls around 1.4 billion pages each month and processes roughly 100 million model predictions per day.

The platform currently maintains hundreds of attributes for each company, covering areas such as business activity, locations, company size, industry classifications, digital presence, legal information and corporate relationships. Its data infrastructure also tracks products and services, with the company reporting 1.3 billion products and services across its database.

Designed for Changing Markets

The company is targeting organisations that need current intelligence to support decisions involving businesses and commercial relationships. Its applications include insurance and risk assessment, supply chain monitoring, procurement, market intelligence, credit analysis and revenue operations.

Veridion says its coverage extends beyond large public companies to the long tail of private and operational businesses that may have limited visibility in conventional datasets. Its current coverage includes 186 million operational companies and 507 million registered legal entities across 250 countries and territories.

For financial and investment teams, the platform can also help identify operational signals that may emerge before conventional financial information reflects a change. Veridion’s customer examples include the use of hiring activity, new locations and other digital signals to identify company momentum.

Expanding the Intelligence Infrastructure

The new Series A capital gives Veridion additional resources to expand its platform and international presence. The company has continued to increase its coverage, strengthen entity resolution and add new data capabilities.

Its APIs allow businesses to search for companies, resolve entities, enrich existing records and analyse areas such as ESG, locations and corporate groups using the same underlying company graph.

As businesses face faster changes across markets and commercial networks, Veridion is positioning continuously refreshed company data as an infrastructure layer for organisations that need to make decisions using information that reflects current business conditions rather than an outdated snapshot.
