Cordon Raises £1M to Make Precision Agriculture More Practical and Scalable

Born From Experience in the Vineyard

Cordon Technologies was founded by Jamie Hutchinson, whose inspiration for the business came directly from his experience managing a vineyard in South West France.

During eight years of vineyard operations, Hutchinson repeatedly encountered the limitations of conventional spraying equipment.

Traditional systems typically apply identical treatment levels across entire crops, regardless of whether different areas require varying amounts of pesticides, fertilisers, or other inputs.

This approach often leads to unnecessary chemical use, higher operating costs, and increased environmental impact.

Recognising these inefficiencies, Hutchinson set out to create a more intelligent and responsive solution capable of delivering treatments with far greater precision.

Introducing the Loop System

At the centre of Cordon’s innovation is a proprietary technology known as the Loop.

The system functions as a dynamic mixing and precision control platform that enables farmers to adjust treatment concentrations in real time while spraying.

Unlike conventional batch based systems, the Loop continuously adapts application rates according to specific crop requirements.

This allows multiple treatments to be adjusted simultaneously, ensuring that each section of a crop receives precisely the amount of input required.

By transforming spraying into a continuously controlled process rather than a fixed operation, the technology aims to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Reducing Costs and Environmental Impact
