The way people book accommodation, flights, and travel experiences has changed dramatically over the past decade, yet the car rental industry continues to rely heavily on traditional processes that often involve counters, paperwork, limited vehicle availability, and outdated pricing systems. At the same time, thousands of well maintained vehicles owned by independent operators remain underutilised because they lack access to the digital tools needed to reach modern travellers. As demand for seamless and fully digital travel experiences continues to grow across Europe, artificial intelligence is creating new opportunities to modernise vehicle rentals. Lithuanian mobility technology startup Sigvi is aiming to lead this transformation by combining AI driven automation with a marketplace that connects travellers and independent fleet owners. The company has now secured fresh funding to accelerate its growth.
Sigvi has raised €1.2 million in pre seed funding in a round led by Helsinki based venture capital firm Superhero Capital, with participation from Vladas Lašas, Chairman of the Lithuanian Business Angel Network, and other angel investors.
The investment will support product development, strengthen the company’s artificial intelligence platform, and accelerate expansion into international markets.
Building an AI Powered Car Rental Platform
Founded in 2023 by Vytis Šliažas, Ignas Gibas, and Mindaugas Banaitis, Sigvi has developed an artificial intelligence powered revenue platform designed specifically for the independent car rental industry.
The company aggregates vehicles from independent fleet operators and private vehicle owners while managing the complete rental process through a unified digital platform.
Its technology automates pricing, reservations, customer support, and operational workflows, allowing fleet owners to improve efficiency while offering travellers a faster and more convenient rental experience.
The platform is designed to simplify every stage of the customer journey from booking through vehicle return.
Automating Every Stage of Vehicle Management
Artificial intelligence sits at the centre of Sigvi’s operating model.
The platform continuously optimises vehicle pricing based on market demand while managing bookings and enabling keyless vehicle access around the clock.
Beyond customer interactions, the system also performs automated vehicle inspections, schedules predictive maintenance, and supports operational decision making that helps maximise fleet utilisation.
By reducing manual processes, Sigvi enables independent operators to manage larger fleets more efficiently while improving service quality for customers.
Delivering Affordable and Sustainable Mobility
Sigvi offers travellers access to professionally managed vehicles that are typically available at prices significantly below those offered by traditional international rental companies.
Customers can collect vehicles directly from designated pickup locations without waiting at rental counters, creating a faster and more convenient experience.
The company also places strong emphasis on vehicle quality and reliability through its collaboration with the Kemi network of vehicle service centres.
Cars are regularly inspected, maintained, and prepared for rental, with seasonal tyre changes and proactive replacement of components helping ensure safety and performance throughout the rental lifecycle.
In addition to improving customer experience, Sigvi promotes a more sustainable mobility model by making greater use of existing second cycle vehicles instead of expanding fleets with newly manufactured cars.
Expanding Across Europe
Sigvi launched operations in Poland during June 2026 and currently manages a network of more than 200 vehicles.
The company views independent fleet operators as an underserved segment of the European mobility market and believes its AI platform can provide the digital infrastructure needed to help them compete more effectively.
By connecting local operators with travellers through intelligent automation, Sigvi aims to unlock higher vehicle utilisation while making car rentals more accessible and affordable.
Accelerating Future Growth
The newly secured funding will enable Sigvi to further enhance its AI automation platform while expanding its commercial presence across Europe.
A key objective for the company is to increase its managed network to approximately 2,000 vehicles over the next two years, significantly strengthening its market position.
As digital transformation reshapes the mobility industry, Sigvi is positioning itself as a technology partner for independent vehicle operators seeking to modernise their businesses. By combining artificial intelligence, automation, and sustainable fleet utilisation within a single platform, the company aims to redefine how independent car rentals are managed while delivering a faster, smarter, and more environmentally responsible travel experience for customers across Europe.
