COPD is one of the leading causes of illness and death worldwide, yet diagnosis often depends on spirometry, a test that has changed little over many decades.
Traditional spirometry requires specialist equipment, trained operators, and significant testing time, creating barriers for many healthcare providers and patients.

At the centre of TidalSense’s platform is N Tidal Diagnose, an AI powered diagnostic system that requires patients to breathe normally into a handheld device for just 75 seconds.
The device captures carbon dioxide waveforms, known as capnograms, which are then analysed using artificial intelligence models trained on more than 2.5 million patient breaths.
Instead of relying on forceful breathing manoeuvres required by conventional tests, the technology evaluates natural breathing patterns to identify signs of respiratory disease.
According to the company, the entire assessment can typically be completed in less than five minutes, allowing clinicians to examine significantly more patients during each clinic session.
