As the boundaries between traditional employment, freelance work, creator businesses, and AI supported collaboration continue to blur, companies focused on the future of work are rapidly evolving beyond conventional staffing models. Milan based company Cosmico is positioning itself at the centre of that transformation by building a multi vertical ecosystem spanning digital talent, creator economy services, and AI driven workforce solutions. The company has now secured fresh funding to accelerate its expansion strategy across Europe and beyond.
Cosmico has raised €12 million in a funding round combining equity and debt financing led by P101 SGR. Existing investors including Prana Ventures also participated in the round.
Alongside the financing, Cosmico announced the full acquisition of Flatmates, a creator agency specialising in Talent as a Service models across Italy, Spain, and the United States. The transaction follows Cosmico’s earlier acquisition of a majority stake in Flatmates during 2024 and gives the group complete ownership of the business.
Building a Future of Work Ecosystem
Founded by Francesco Marino, Simone Tornabene, and Matteo Roversi, Cosmico operates as a holding company focused on the future of work across Italy and Spain.
Rather than concentrating on a single product or employment category, the company has structured its ecosystem around multiple interconnected business verticals. These include Talent as a Service solutions for digital professionals and creators, community based employee engagement platforms, and AI supported team design services.
Cosmico says its long term strategy combines organic growth with acquisitions aimed at expanding into adjacent future of work sectors while consolidating its existing business units.
Today, the company operates with a network of more than 35,000 digital professionals and serves over 300 clients through teams based in Milan and Madrid.
Expanding Into the Creator Economy
The acquisition of Flatmates represents a significant step in Cosmico’s broader expansion into the creator economy market. Founded in 2021, Flatmates operates across creator representation, brand partnerships, original content production, and editorial media channels.
The company works with major brands including Ducati, NordVPN, Google, Xiaomi, Trade Republic, and Generali.
According to Cosmico, the acquisition strengthens its position within the creator economy across Italy, Spain, and the United States while expanding the group’s Talent as a Service capabilities into influencer and content creator ecosystems.
From Startup to Holding Company
Francesco Marino said the company has evolved beyond the traditional scale up model built around a single product offering. Instead, Cosmico now sees itself as a future of work holding company operating multiple specialised verticals connected through a broader workforce transformation strategy.
Marino explained that the latest funding will support continued expansion through both internal growth and strategic acquisitions as the company seeks to strengthen its position across evolving labour and creator markets.
More Acquisitions Ahead
The newly raised capital will finance the next phase of Cosmico’s expansion strategy, including plans to complete three additional acquisitions before the end of 2026.
As businesses increasingly adopt flexible workforce structures, creator led marketing models, and AI assisted collaboration tools, the market for integrated future of work platforms continues expanding rapidly.
By combining talent infrastructure, creator economy services, and AI enabled workforce solutions under one umbrella, Cosmico is positioning itself as part of a growing category of companies redefining how modern work is organised and managed across digital economies.
