London based AI startup CodeWords has secured $9 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of its autonomous business automation platform. The company is building AI agents designed to understand how businesses operate and independently execute workflows across multiple tools and systems without requiring technical expertise from users.
Backed by Leading Investors and Tech Executives
The funding round was led by Visionaries, with participation from firstminute capital, Sequel, and Illusian.
The round also attracted an extensive group of technology founders and industry leaders, including Andrey Khusid of Miro, Mati Staniszewski of ElevenLabs, Hanno Renner of Personio, and Robert Gentz of Zalando.
Additional backing came from executives and operators connected to OpenAI, Mistral AI, Zapier, and n8n.
Building AI Agents for Everyday Business Operations
At the centre of CodeWords’ platform is Cody, an AI agent designed to learn how businesses function and proactively automate operational tasks.
Unlike traditional automation tools that often require manual workflows or technical configuration, Cody is intended to work more autonomously. The system can observe workflows, understand business context, and build automations across different tools and integrations.
The platform enables non technical users to automate activities such as lead generation, deal flow monitoring, content creation, and operational coordination without relying on engineering teams.

The company originally launched under the name Agemo as an AI research focused organisation specialising in neurosymbolic reasoning.

Since then, CodeWords has entered beta testing and expanded its capabilities significantly.

According to co founder Aymeric Zhuo, the vision behind Cody is based on the behaviour of highly effective operators who anticipate needs and take action proactively rather than waiting for instructions.
