As the boundaries between terrestrial and space based networks begin to blur, a new generation of infrastructure is emerging to redefine global connectivity. UNIVITY is positioning itself at the centre of this transformation, securing €27 million in fresh funding to accelerate the development of a high speed, space based internet infrastructure tailored for telecom operators.

Strong Backing for a Strategic Vision

The funding round was backed by Blast, Expansion, and the Deeptech 2030 fund, managed by Bpifrance as part of the France 2030 programme. Additional support came from two family offices.

This latest investment brings UNIVITY’s total funding to over €67 million, providing the resources needed to scale its technology and bring its infrastructure vision closer to reality.

A New Era of Space Based Connectivity

Advances in satellite technology, reduced launch costs, and industrial scale production have brought space based connectivity to a point where it can compete directly with traditional fibre networks.

For telecom operators, this shift presents a major opportunity. Instead of investing heavily in terrestrial infrastructure, they can leverage space based systems to deliver high speed internet with lower capital requirements. However, many existing solutions are vertically integrated, offering services directly to end users and competing with telecom operators themselves.

A Wholesale Infrastructure Approach

UNIVITY is taking a different path by positioning itself as a wholesale infrastructure provider. Rather than competing with telecom companies, it enables them to extend their networks into space while retaining control over their services and customer relationships.

This model mirrors the structure of terrestrial telecom networks, where shared infrastructure supports multiple operators. By providing the missing link between ground networks and space, UNIVITY aims to empower telecom companies to deliver seamless connectivity across both domains.

Leveraging VLEO and 5G Integration

At the core of UNIVITY’s technology are two key innovations. The first is its use of Very Low Earth Orbit, which allows satellites to operate closer to the Earth. This results in lower latency, improved performance, and enhanced compatibility with applications such as smartphones and connected vehicles.

The second pillar is the integration of telecom operators’ existing 5G spectrum and infrastructure. By leveraging widely deployed 5G components, UNIVITY reduces costs and ensures seamless interoperability between terrestrial and space networks. This approach enables continuous connectivity without relying on limited or congested frequency bands.

Advancing the uniShape Programme

The new funding will support the development of the uniShape programme, a major step toward real world deployment. This initiative will involve the assembly and launch of two advanced satellites designed to demonstrate high throughput 5G connectivity from space.

The programme will validate end to end performance, including direct to device communication, showcasing the potential for seamless integration between space based and ground networks.

Driving Sovereignty and Independence

In an era where technological sovereignty is becoming increasingly important, UNIVITY’s model offers a compelling alternative. By enabling telecom operators to maintain control over their infrastructure and services, the company supports greater independence from external platforms.

This approach is particularly relevant for Europe, where building resilient and autonomous connectivity systems is a strategic priority.

Rapid Growth and Global Interest

UNIVITY has moved quickly from concept to execution, securing strong interest from telecom operators worldwide. The company has already signed multiple agreements across different regions, reflecting growing demand for hybrid connectivity solutions.

With plans to scale production and expand its operations, UNIVITY is preparing to meet this demand and establish itself as a key player in the global connectivity landscape.

Shaping the Future of Global Networks

As connectivity becomes increasingly essential to modern life, the integration of space and terrestrial networks is set to play a defining role. UNIVITY’s vision of shared, scalable infrastructure positions it at the forefront of this evolution.

With fresh funding, advanced technology, and a clear strategic direction, the company is working to build a new foundation for global communications, where space is not a competitor to existing networks, but their natural extension.
