Sinpex, the Munich-based AI-powered KYB and KYC lifecycle management platform, has raised €10 million in Series A funding to accelerate European expansion and product development. The round was led by BlackFin Capital Partners, with existing investors ACE Ventures and TX Ventures participating.
Founded to Fix Broken Corporate Onboarding
Founded in 2019 by Dr. Camillo Werdich, Sinpex was created after he observed firsthand at Deloitte how traditional compliance tools left banks reliant on manual, document-heavy processes. Corporate onboarding remained slow, inconsistent and fragmented across jurisdictions.
All-in-One KYB Automation for Complex Corporate Data
Sinpex’s SaaS platform automates the full KYB lifecycle from document collection and UBO identification to AML screening, ID&V, risk assessment and ongoing reviews. It processes unstructured, multilingual documents and provides evidence-backed compliance decisions, showing exactly where key data points are sourced.
Cutting Onboarding Time by 80%
The platform is used by financial institutions, including Otto Payments, Enpal’s EFS Deutschland, IKB, Bybit, Scayle Payments and KfW. Clients report reductions of up to 80% in onboarding time, shifting compliance work from repetitive tasks to exception-based oversight.
Rising Regulatory Pressure Ahead of 2027 EU AML Rules
The EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation, fully effective in 2027, will impose stricter requirements around UBO transparency and documented evidence. This shift means institutions must prove, not just assume, ownership and control structures, significantly increasing compliance workload without automation.
The High Cost of Non-Compliance
Recent enforcement actions show the stakes: regulators have capped customer growth and issued multimillion-euro fines for AML lapses. Compliance has become a growth-critical function, not just an operational necessity.
Funding to Fuel Expansion and Talent Growth
The Series A investment will support Sinpex’s expansion across Europe, enhancement of its AI capabilities, and recruitment across engineering and regulatory functions. Werdich emphasises that building the right team is as essential as technological innovation.
Europe as a Global Compliance Benchmark
Sinpex sees Europe’s stringent regulatory landscape as a first-mover advantage. Products built to meet European compliance standards often translate well globally, positioning Sinpex strongly for international growth.
