Building Smarter: Hyperion Robotics Raises Funding to Transform Construction With AI

Europe’s infrastructure sector is under increasing pressure to modernise while responding to rising construction costs, labour shortages, and ambitious sustainability targets. Governments and industries must replace ageing infrastructure, expand energy networks, and build new facilities, yet traditional construction methods often struggle to deliver projects quickly and efficiently. Advances in robotics and artificial intelligence are creating new opportunities to rethink how infrastructure is manufactured, shifting production away from conventional building sites and into highly automated factory environments. Finnish construction technology company Hyperion Robotics is at the forefront of this transformation, and it has now secured fresh funding to accelerate the deployment of its robotic manufacturing platform across Europe.

Hyperion Robotics has raised $7.4 million in a growth funding round co led by Course Corrected and the European Innovation Council Fund. The investment also attracted participation from RE Ventures, part of the Romande Energie Group, alongside existing investors Lifeline Ventures, Übermorgen Ventures, and PC Rettig Impact & Co.

The new funding will support the expansion of the company’s robotic microfactory network, continued development of its software platform, and broader commercial growth across European infrastructure markets.

Bringing Factory Automation to Construction

Hyperion Robotics is developing a new manufacturing model that combines robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence to produce infrastructure components in digitally controlled factory environments.

Instead of relying on labour intensive construction methods at project sites, the company manufactures components in robotic microfactories located close to where infrastructure projects are being delivered.

This approach helps reduce transportation requirements while improving production efficiency, quality, and consistency.

By relocating much of the construction process into automated factories, Hyperion aims to address several long standing challenges affecting the infrastructure sector.

The Forge Digital Manufacturing Platform

At the centre of the company’s technology ecosystem is Forge, a software platform designed to coordinate every stage of infrastructure production.

Forge integrates engineering design, structural analysis, regulatory compliance, robotics, and factory operations into a single digital workflow.

The platform enables manufacturing processes to be planned, monitored, and optimised through intelligent automation while ensuring infrastructure components meet required engineering standards.

By connecting design directly with robotic manufacturing, Hyperion creates a streamlined production process that reduces complexity and improves operational efficiency.

The company believes this integrated digital approach represents an important step toward the future of industrialised construction.

Faster, More Sustainable Production

According to Hyperion Robotics, its manufacturing model delivers substantial improvements over conventional construction methods.

The company’s robotic microfactories can produce infrastructure components up to three times faster than traditional building approaches.

Production costs can be reduced by as much as 50 per cent while carbon emissions are lowered by up to 70 per cent.

The company also reports material savings of up to 75 per cent through more efficient engineering and precision manufacturing.

These improvements are achieved by combining intelligent software, robotic automation, and optimised production techniques within controlled factory environments.

The result is infrastructure manufacturing that is faster, more resource efficient, and more environmentally sustainable.

Launching the First UK Microfactory

The newly secured funding will support the launch of Forge I, Hyperion Robotics’ first microfactory in the United Kingdom.

Located in Flixborough near Scunthorpe and developed in partnership with LKAB, the facility will manufacture infrastructure components serving industries including energy, utilities, water, carbon capture, and data centres.

The new site represents an important milestone in the company’s strategy of establishing local manufacturing facilities positioned close to major infrastructure projects.

This distributed factory model enables faster delivery while reducing logistics complexity and environmental impact.

Expanding Across Europe

Beyond the launch of its UK operations, Hyperion Robotics plans to continue expanding its presence throughout Europe.

The funding will support further development of the Forge platform while increasing manufacturing capacity for future infrastructure projects.

As governments continue investing in sustainable infrastructure and modern construction technologies, demand for factory based manufacturing solutions is expected to increase significantly.

By combining physical AI, robotics, and advanced manufacturing software, Hyperion Robotics is positioning itself as a leader in the next generation of infrastructure construction. Through its network of intelligent microfactories, the company aims to help Europe deliver critical infrastructure more quickly, more efficiently, and with a significantly lower environmental footprint.
