YOU(th) Health Tech, a digital health company working to make preventive care accessible at global scale, has raised 4.5 million dollars in new funding as it accelerates the development of smartphone based health screening. The round was led by Callisto Health, with participation from caesar., adesso Ventures, Antler, Moonstone, and 1024 Ventures, alongside prominent angel investors from Europe’s technology and healthcare ecosystem.
The investment comes at a time when interest in longevity and proactive health management is rising, particularly among younger generations, while ageing populations are placing growing strain on healthcare systems worldwide. Despite widespread awareness of the benefits of early detection, preventive screening remains underused. Long waiting times, high costs, and reliance on specialised equipment continue to discourage many people from engaging in routine health checks.
Tackling friction in preventive healthcare
Research indicates that nearly 60 percent of people avoid preventive testing due to the friction involved at the point of screening. Traditional diagnostics often require clinic visits, appointments, hardware, and invasive procedures, creating barriers to frequent monitoring. YOU(th) Health Tech was founded to address this challenge by transforming everyday smartphone interactions into a tool for continuous, low friction health screening.
The company’s platform uses smartphone sensor data combined with machine learning models to assess a user’s health in under two minutes. By analysing inputs such as face videos, voice recordings, eye and skin images, typing behaviour, and step data, the system identifies more than 50 digital biomarkers across over 10 organ systems.
Smartphone sensors as a global health tool
YOU(th) aims to shift preventive care away from episodic testing toward continuous, passive screening. The platform estimates a broad range of health indicators, including blood pressure, oxygen saturation, respiratory symptom index, and proxies for glucose, haemoglobin, and cholesterol. It also assesses cognitive age, skin condition, hydration levels, and aspects of mental health.
By relying on smartphones rather than medical devices or laboratory tests, the company reduces the need for needles, hardware, or in person visits. This approach is designed to enable frequent health checkups that fit seamlessly into daily life, regardless of geography or access to healthcare infrastructure.
Building prevention into everyday life
Filippo Nigro, founder and CEO of YOU(th), said that while prevention is widely discussed, it is rarely practiced at the frequency needed to have real impact.
According to Nigro, only around 8 percent of people screen at the optimal frequency because time, cost, and inconvenience get in the way. YOU(th) is designed to remove those barriers by turning everyday phone behaviour, such as selfies, voice notes, and typing patterns, into passive health screening that connects directly to real healthcare pathways. The company’s philosophy is that prevention should not interrupt daily life but operate quietly within it.
A data driven approach to global prevention
The platform spans multiple health domains, including cardiovascular, respiratory, cognitive, dermatological, metabolic, mental, and blood health. By aggregating and analysing large volumes of real world data, YOU(th) aims to support earlier detection of health risks and enable more personalised preventive care.
The company positions its technology as complementary to traditional healthcare systems, providing an entry point that can guide users toward further diagnostics or clinical care when needed. This approach has particular relevance for regions where access to routine screening is limited or costly.
Scaling technology and research
The newly raised funding will be used to accelerate product development and strengthen YOU(th)’s technical and medical foundations. The company plans to expand its engineering, data science, and medical research teams as it continues refining its machine learning models and validating digital biomarkers.
With smartphone adoption continuing to rise globally, YOU(th) Health Tech aims to reach billions of people with preventive screening tools that are fast, affordable, and easy to use. As healthcare systems increasingly shift toward prevention and early intervention, the company’s approach reflects a broader move to embed health monitoring into everyday technology rather than specialised clinical settings.
