Spanish Startup Webel Secures €4.3M Pre Series A for Growth

As digital platforms continue to reshape everyday services, startups are increasingly targeting fragmented local markets with scalable, tech-driven solutions. Spanish startup Webel is positioning itself at the centre of this shift, aiming to redefine how consumers access home services while empowering independent professionals through a flexible marketplace model. The company has now raised €4.3 million in a pre Series A funding round to accelerate its growth and expand across Europe.

Fresh capital to fuel expansion

The funding round was led by existing investor Trind Ventures, alongside participation from Decelera Ventures, Tiburon, and several other backers. Notably, Mantas Mikuckas, co founder and former COO of Vinted, has joined as a new investor, bringing additional marketplace expertise to the company.

This latest investment will be used to strengthen Webel’s technology platform, increase marketing efforts, and support its expansion strategy. The company is focused on scaling both its user base and service offerings as it moves beyond its home market in Spain.

Building a one stop home services platform

Founded in 2018, Webel was created with the goal of simplifying access to everyday home services. The platform connects users with professionals across a wide range of categories, allowing customers to book services quickly while giving providers tools to manage their work independently.

What began primarily as a cleaning focused platform has evolved into a broader home services marketplace. Today, Webel offers more than 30 service categories, including electricians, plumbing, home renovations, moving services, tutoring, childcare, and elderly care.

This expansion reflects changing consumer demand as users increasingly look for a single platform that can address multiple household needs.

Strong traction across Spain

Webel has experienced significant growth since its launch. The platform now serves more than 2 million users and has onboarded around 350,000 professionals. It also hosts close to one million service listings, highlighting the scale of its marketplace.

Currently operating in 31 cities across Spain, Webel has built a strong domestic presence. Its model is designed to scale across urban markets where demand for on demand services continues to rise.

In addition to its established categories such as home cleaning, ironing, and handyman services, the platform has seen growing demand in newer segments. These include small home renovations, appliance repairs, private tutoring, childcare, and personal care services such as manicures.

Expanding beyond Spain

As part of its growth strategy, Webel has begun expanding internationally, starting with the United Kingdom. This marks an important step in the company’s ambition to become a leading European platform for home services.

The expansion is supported by the platform’s scalable model, which can be adapted to different markets while maintaining a consistent user experience. By entering new regions, Webel aims to capture a share of the growing demand for digital marketplaces that simplify access to local services.

Competitive pricing and flexible model

A key differentiator for Webel lies in its pricing and commission structure. The platform offers services at prices that are typically lower than traditional providers, making it an attractive option for customers seeking affordability.

At the same time, professionals benefit from lower commissions compared to industry standards. They also retain control over their pricing, schedules, and client relationships, creating a more flexible and appealing working model.

This balance between affordability for users and autonomy for professionals has contributed to the platform’s rapid adoption and growth.

Investing in product and visibility

With the new funding in place, Webel plans to invest heavily in product development and marketing. Enhancing the platform’s technology will allow the company to improve user experience, optimise matching between customers and professionals, and support new service categories.

Marketing efforts will focus on increasing awareness of Webel’s expanded offering, particularly as it moves beyond its initial perception as a cleaning app.

Scaling a fragmented market

The home services industry remains highly fragmented, with many providers operating offline or through disconnected channels. Webel aims to bring structure and efficiency to this space by creating a unified digital marketplace.
