Konsileo Secures £5 Million to Build a Smarter Future for Commercial Insurance

Commercial insurance brokers often spend as much time managing paperwork, compliance and administrative processes as they do advising clients. UK based Konsileo is building a different model, combining proprietary technology with a broker focused operating structure to give insurance professionals more time to develop client relationships. The company has raised £5 million in equity funding to strengthen its technology platform, attract new talent and accelerate its next phase of growth.

The investment was led by existing shareholders Committed Capital and ACF Investors, both of which have supported the business over the longer term. Founded in 2017, Konsileo provides commercial insurance broking and risk management services to businesses across the United Kingdom.

Technology at the Centre of Broking

Konsileo has developed its own end to end technology platform to simplify the work involved in arranging and managing commercial insurance. The system automates administrative activities, incorporates compliance checks into everyday workflows and helps brokers capture more accurate information about the risks facing their clients.

According to the company, its platform reduces process effort by approximately 50%. The aim is to reduce repetitive tasks and allow brokers to devote more attention to understanding customers’ businesses, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate insurance cover.

The approach is particularly relevant in commercial insurance, where policies can involve complex business operations, specialist coverage requirements and changing risk profiles. Better information and more efficient workflows can help brokers manage these demands while maintaining service quality.

Riskube Gives Clients Greater Visibility

Another part of Konsileo’s technology offering is Riskube, its online insurance and risk management system. The platform provides clients with a central place to access insurance policies, update business details and review communications with their brokers.

By bringing important insurance information together, Riskube aims to make policy administration more straightforward for businesses and improve visibility throughout the customer relationship.

Konsileo is also continuing to develop its technology stack, including integrating artificial intelligence into selected workflows. The company sees opportunities to use AI to streamline processes, reduce manual work and support its growing nationwide network of brokers.

Rather than treating technology as an additional layer on top of traditional broking, Konsileo has designed its operating model around the platform from the beginning.

A Different Model for Insurance Brokers

Technology is only one part of the company’s strategy. Konsileo has also built its organisation around giving brokers greater autonomy and responsibility for their client relationships.

Its relatively flat structure moves away from traditional management hierarchies and places greater emphasis on coaching and professional support. The company aims to give brokers the tools and freedom to build their own portfolios while focusing on delivering value to customers.

Its reward system is designed to recognise the contribution brokers make through their client relationships. Training and development are supported through the Konsileo Academy, which helps professionals build their skills and progress within the business.

Chief executive and co founder John Warburton has argued that brokers perform best when they have autonomy, effective tools and support rather than excessive managerial oversight.

Building a Nationwide Business

Konsileo has grown since its launch in 2017 and now employs more than 220 people. The company arranges more than £85 million in annual insurance premiums, giving it a substantial presence in the UK commercial insurance market.

Its model seeks to combine the expertise and relationships of individual brokers with the consistency and efficiency of a technology enabled organisation. This could help the company expand without relying entirely on the administrative structures associated with conventional broking businesses.

The new £5 million investment will support further development of the broking platform and recruitment of additional talent. As Konsileo approaches its tenth anniversary in 2027, the funding provides resources to build on its existing operations and continue refining its technology.

Preparing for the Next Stage

The commercial insurance sector continues to face pressure to improve customer experience, operate more efficiently and respond to evolving business risks. Konsileo is betting that a combination of automation, AI enabled workflows and a broker centred culture can help address those demands.

Its next challenge will be to translate its technology investments into sustained growth while maintaining the personal service that remains central to commercial insurance.

With fresh capital from established investors, an expanding workforce and a platform built specifically around broking, Konsileo is positioning itself to develop a more efficient model for delivering commercial insurance across the UK.
