From Job Searching to Job Discovery: Roleo Secures €2.9M to Reinvent Recruitment

Finding the next career opportunity often requires professionals to spend hours browsing job platforms, updating profiles, networking and submitting applications. But what if the right opportunity could find you instead? Estonian startup Roleo is developing an artificial intelligence powered career agent designed to continuously monitor the job market, understand individual professional ambitions and connect people with relevant opportunities without requiring them to actively search. The company has raised €2.9 million to improve its technology and expand its presence across Europe’s technology sector.

Practica Capital Leads €2.9 Million Funding Round

Roleo has raised €2.9 million in a funding round led by Baltic venture capital firm Practica Capital, with participation from Nordic investor Inventure.

The company was founded by Janer Gorohhov, co founder of identity verification company Veriff, and Vahur Hansen, who was part of Wise’s early engineering team and later co founded Membo.

The startup has also attracted backing from several technology entrepreneurs and investors, including Bolt founder Markus Villig, Sergei Anikin, Henrik Bohman, Kristina Lilleõis and Lemonade Stand.

The fresh capital will support improvements to Roleo’s AI career agent, accelerate its European expansion and help develop additional capabilities beyond traditional job matching.

A Personal AI Agent for Career Development

Roleo is building an alternative to conventional recruitment platforms. Instead of requiring users to repeatedly search job listings and apply for positions, its platform operates as a personal career agent that monitors opportunities on their behalf.

The system learns about each user’s professional background, experience, career ambitions, salary expectations and workplace preferences. These can include responsibilities, flexibility, working arrangements and opportunities for professional development.

Using this information, the AI agent evaluates opportunities across the European technology market and identifies positions that align with an individual’s requirements.

When it finds a suitable opportunity, Roleo can connect the candidate directly with the hiring manager, without requiring a conventional application process. Users remain in control of their personal information, visibility and decisions about whether to explore an opportunity.

AI Matches Professionals With Relevant Opportunities

Roleo says its platform has already connected users with 30,000 career opportunities since the beginning of 2026, which they subsequently explored.

The AI agent evaluates hundreds of thousands of potential opportunities every week and typically selects the three most relevant matches for each user. This approach is designed to reduce the volume of irrelevant job listings and focus attention on opportunities that genuinely match individual career goals.

The platform also aims to address a common problem in recruitment: many highly qualified professionals are not actively looking for new jobs, even when they might consider an attractive opportunity.

Roleo reports that its users include professionals from companies such as Google, Amazon, Stripe and Spotify.

For employers, the platform provides a way to reach experienced candidates who may not be regularly checking recruitment websites or responding to public job advertisements.

Founders Want to Change How People Manage Careers

Janer Gorohhov, co founder and CEO of Roleo, said professionals often manage their careers actively only when they decide to change jobs or encounter difficulties in their current positions.

He believes a personal AI career agent could help people stay informed about relevant opportunities throughout their professional journeys, allowing them to concentrate on their current work without losing sight of future possibilities.

Expanding Across Europe’s Technology Sector

Roleo plans to initially focus on technology professionals and employers across Europe. The new investment will help improve its matching capabilities, make its AI agent more responsive to individual preferences and expand its reach among businesses and candidates.

Beyond identifying job opportunities, the company wants to develop its platform into a longer term career management tool that supports professional growth and changing ambitions.

By shifting recruitment from active job searching towards continuous, personalised opportunity discovery, Roleo is aiming to introduce a different way for professionals and employers to connect.
