As hotels worldwide contend with rising guest expectations and growing operational complexity, one software company is rapidly becoming the digital backbone of the modern hospitality industry. Mews, a global hospitality management platform, has closed a major funding round that positions it to scale its AI driven operating system and expand deeper into North America and Europe.
A $300 Million Series D and a $2.5 Billion Valuation
Mews has raised three hundred million dollars in a Series D funding round led by EQT Growth. New investors Atomico and HarbourVest Partners joined the round, while existing backers Kinnevik, Battery Ventures and Tiger Global also participated. The latest raise values the company at two point five billion dollars, reflecting strong investor confidence in both its technology and long term market potential.
This investment follows a period of rapid expansion for Mews, including its acquisition of DataChat, a generative AI analytics company, and a seventy five million dollar funding round in March 2025 that supported its geographic growth.
A Cloud Native Operating System for Modern Hotels
Mews provides a cloud native platform designed to unify revenue management, operations and guest experience in one integrated system. Its suite includes property management, point of sale, revenue management, housekeeping, payments and a number of guest facing tools.
By consolidating workflows traditionally handled by multiple systems, Mews enables hotels to automate time consuming tasks, personalise service and increase operational efficiency. More than fifteen thousand properties worldwide rely on Mews to support daily operations, boost revenue and modernise the guest journey.
CEO Matt Welle says the company’s mission is to reshape how hoteliers work by allowing teams to focus on meaningful guest interactions rather than administrative tasks. He emphasises that Mews is building an operating system that simplifies complexity while enabling more profitable and rewarding hospitality experiences.
A Year of Record Growth
Mews’ momentum is reflected in its performance over the past year. In 2025, the platform supported more than one hundred thirty two thousand monthly active users in eighty five countries. Hotels running on Mews completed forty two point three million checked in reservations and processed nineteen point seven billion dollars in transaction volume through the platform.
Mews Spaces, a feature that drives dynamic use of hotel real estate, generated five hundred thirty seven million dollars in additional revenue for hoteliers. This strong performance has helped position Mews as one of the category leaders in hospitality software.
Founder Richard Valtr highlights that the company’s progress is a result of building technology that puts experience at the centre of hospitality. He says the validation from both US and European markets underscores Mews’ leadership in AI enabled and agent based hotel operations.
Investor Perspective on a Fragmented Sector
Kirk Lepke, Partner at EQT Growth, says Mews is solving one of hospitality’s most enduring challenges: fragmented systems that make operations inefficient and slow to adapt. He notes that the company is developing an AI enabled operating system designed to unify hotel functions and deliver a more seamless experience for guests and staff alike.
The acquisition of DataChat further strengthens Mews’ AI capabilities, enabling more advanced automation, real time insights and agent based systems across the platform.
Scaling Payments, Fintech and Global Expansion
With the new funding, Mews plans to scale Mews Payments, deepen its fintech infrastructure and integrate commerce more deeply into hotel operations. This will allow hoteliers to streamline payments, reduce friction in the booking process and unlock additional revenue opportunities.
The company will also accelerate expansion across North America and Europe, while entering new markets where demand for next generation hospitality management solutions is increasing.
A significant portion of the funding will support continued investment in artificial intelligence, particularly agent based systems designed to automate complex workflows, reduce staff workload and elevate the guest experience.
A New Era for Hospitality Technology
With strong investor backing, a rapidly expanding global footprint and a growing portfolio of AI driven solutions, Mews is poised to define the next era of hotel technology. Its vision reflects a broader shift in hospitality toward integrated systems, autonomous workflows and data driven guest experiences that bring operational efficiency and personalised service together in one platform.
