Cologne-based Einklang has secured €2.2 million in fresh funding as it looks to scale its integrated energy solutions for Germany’s mid-sized businesses, a segment often overlooked in the country’s energy transition. The investment arrives as many small and medium-sized enterprises continue to struggle with volatile electricity prices, high grid fees, and limited access to flexible energy systems despite the rapid growth of renewable generation.
Funding to scale flexible energy systems
The funding round was led by Vireo Ventures, with participation from SI Ventures, Saxovent, Angel Invest, Heimatboost, and DnA Ventures. The capital will support Einklang’s efforts to expand its Energy-as-a-Service model, further develop its technology platform, and deepen partnerships across the German energy ecosystem.
Einklang focuses on commercial and industrial customers that want to reduce electricity costs and increase their use of renewable power without committing capital or adding operational complexity. The company offers an integrated solution that combines electricity procurement, intelligent control systems, battery storage, and flexible tariffs into a single service.
An Energy as a Service approach
Unlike traditional energy solutions that require upfront investment or in-house energy expertise, Einklang’s model removes both barriers. Customers do not need to purchase batteries or manage energy systems themselves. Instead, Einklang installs and operates the technology, allowing businesses to benefit from lower costs and improved energy resilience from day one.
The platform is designed to automatically shift electricity consumption to periods when renewable generation is high and prices are lower. By smoothing consumption peaks and optimising storage use, the system reduces exposure to price volatility, lowers grid charges, and improves cost predictability for customers.
Founders with deep energy experience
Einklang was founded by Lucas Jonas, Jonathan Schulte, Paul Ziche, and José Neri, a team with experience in building and scaling energy-focused companies including Voltfang and Impuls Energy. This background in industrial energy systems and algorithmic energy trading forms the foundation of Einklang’s technology and business model.
Lucas Jonas, co-founder and CEO, said mid-sized companies face a structural disadvantage in the energy market. While energy-intensive industries often benefit from regulatory relief and tailored frameworks, many medium-sized firms remain exposed to high electricity prices driven by grid fees, peak consumption, and limited flexibility. Einklang’s solution, he explained, directly targets these challenges by integrating procurement, storage, and consumption into a single automated system.
From installation to impact
Einklang’s solution is already deployed at manufacturing and industrial sites across Germany. Implementation typically takes less than three months, allowing businesses to start benefiting quickly from reduced energy costs and improved planning visibility.
By combining battery storage with flexible tariffs and intelligent control, the system helps companies stabilise energy expenses while increasing their share of renewable electricity. This approach supports both economic and sustainability goals, enabling businesses to reduce emissions without sacrificing operational reliability.
Growth plans and market ambition
Following the funding round, Einklang plans to accelerate product development and expand its customer base. The company aims to scale its battery-optimised electricity tariff solution across Germany’s commercial and industrial sectors, with a target of reaching 100 customer sites by 2026.
In parallel, Einklang intends to strengthen strategic partnerships across the energy value chain to support wider adoption of flexible energy systems. As Germany’s energy transition continues to reshape electricity markets, the company positions itself as a key enabler for mid-sized businesses seeking affordable, renewable, and reliable power.
With rising energy costs and increasing pressure to decarbonise, Einklang’s integrated approach reflects a growing shift toward service-based energy models that prioritise simplicity, flexibility, and measurable impact for businesses navigating an increasingly complex energy landscape.
