The Future of Trading Never Closes: LO:TECH Raises $12M in Series A

Financial markets are undergoing a major transformation as digital assets, tokenised financial instruments and prediction markets challenge the traditional boundaries of trading. While conventional exchanges operate within fixed business hours, blockchain based markets remain active around the clock, creating demand for financial infrastructure that can function continuously across different platforms. London based capital markets firm LO:TECH is positioning itself at the centre of this transition, having raised $12 million in Series A funding to expand its trading infrastructure and execution services internationally.

MMC Leads $12 Million Series A

LO has secured $12 million in a Series A funding round led by MMC, with participation from existing investors Faction and 13 Books Capital, alongside Atka.

Founded by Chief Executive Officer Tim Meggs and Chief Technology Officer Marcus Horsley, the company develops trading infrastructure designed to connect traditional financial markets with digital assets and emerging prediction markets.

The investment follows the company’s earlier $5 million funding round in August 2025, which was led by 13 Books Capital. Since then, LO has continued developing its technology and expanding its services for institutional clients operating across digital and traditional financial markets.

Building Infrastructure for Markets That Never Sleep

Traditional financial markets have historically followed established trading schedules, with exchanges opening and closing at specific times. Digital asset markets operate differently, allowing transactions to take place continuously, including weekends and public holidays.

This difference creates operational challenges for trading firms that want to participate across multiple asset classes and venues. Separate systems, inconsistent market data and fragmented execution processes can make it difficult to manage trading activity efficiently.

LO aims to solve this problem through a unified trading infrastructure built to operate across centralised exchanges, decentralised platforms, traditional financial markets and prediction markets.

According to the company, its underlying high frequency trading technology supports several business activities, including proprietary trading, market making, market data distribution and institutional execution. This shared infrastructure allows information and trading capabilities to work together rather than relying on disconnected systems.

Expanding Institutional Execution Services

A major focus of the latest funding is the expansion of LO’s execution services. These services are designed to help institutional customers place and manage orders across fragmented markets.

The platform supports different execution methods, including Time Weighted Average Price, Volume Weighted Average Price and Percentage of Volume strategies. It also offers direct market and limit orders, alongside customised execution algorithms.

Institutional users can access cost estimates before submitting orders and review execution performance afterwards through analysis covering fees, slippage and venue selection.

The company aims to provide a more connected trading experience for institutions dealing with assets across traditional exchanges, digital asset platforms and prediction markets.

A Growing Opportunity in Tokenised Finance

The funding arrives as financial institutions increasingly explore blockchain based infrastructure and tokenisation of traditional assets.

Tokenisation allows financial instruments and other real world assets to be represented digitally on blockchain networks. As these markets develop, trading infrastructure capable of connecting conventional financial systems with onchain platforms could become increasingly important.

Tim Meggs said traditional capital markets were designed around fixed trading hours, while modern trading activity increasingly operates continuously across different venues and asset classes.

Co founder and CTO Marcus Horsley added that fintech and digital asset platforms are entering areas traditionally served by major Wall Street institutions, creating demand for trading partners built specifically for these markets.

Expansion Into the US and Asia Pacific

With the new capital, LO plans to expand into the United States and Asia Pacific, including establishing a presence in New York and Singapore.

The company also intends to strengthen its institutional execution offering and explore the regulatory authorisations required in the markets it enters.

By combining trading, liquidity, market data and execution capabilities on one technology platform, LO aims to become a capital markets partner for institutions navigating the increasingly connected world of traditional and blockchain based finance.
