Financial and insurance advisors are expected to build customer relationships, identify new business opportunities and provide personalised guidance, yet much of their working day can disappear into paperwork, meeting notes and routine administration. German startup TODAY is developing an AI platform designed to take over these repetitive tasks, allowing advisors to concentrate on clients. The company has raised €2.8 million in seed funding to expand its technology and reach more advisory teams across the DACH region.
The funding round was co led by High Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Insurtech Gateway, with participation from Seed X, Lucid Capital and angel investors, including former HDI chief executive Herbert Rogenhofer and Tech11 founder Pierre Dubosq.
Founded in 2024 by Michael Gackstatter and Artem Demchenkov, TODAY is building an AI powered sales operating system for financial and insurance professionals working at banks, insurers and brokerages.
Bringing AI Into Financial Advice
Financial advisory businesses face growing pressure to improve productivity while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance. Advisors must manage client meetings, follow ups, documentation and internal processes alongside their core responsibilities.
TODAY aims to address this challenge by bringing multiple tasks into one AI enabled platform. Rather than functioning as a simple chatbot, its technology uses AI agents to support advisors throughout the customer journey, from preparing for meetings to handling work after a conversation.
The platform is designed to fit into existing advisory workflows, helping professionals spend less time switching between administrative systems and more time engaging with customers.
From Meeting Notes to Back Office Tasks
One of TODAY’s key functions is automatically transcribing client conversations and turning them into structured information. This can help advisors capture customer needs, record important details and identify potential follow up actions without having to document every interaction manually.
The platform also supports routine back office work, including administrative processes that typically consume time after meetings. Other capabilities include sales coaching and answering incoming calls, extending its role beyond transcription into day to day business operations.
By capturing information from customer conversations, the system can also help advisors retain insights that might otherwise be overlooked or lost in manual notes.
The company says this approach allows advisory teams to work more efficiently while maintaining a stronger record of customer interactions.
Five Hours Saved Every Week
According to TODAY, advisors using its platform save an average of five hours each week on administrative work. The company also reports that users can generate up to 10% more revenue and capture around 50 times more insights from client conversations.
These figures are company reported results, rather than independently verified industry benchmarks. Nevertheless, they illustrate the productivity opportunity TODAY is targeting in a market where advisors’ time is closely connected to customer service and business growth.
More than 3,500 advisors across Germany, Austria and Switzerland are already using the platform. Its customer base ranges from large insurance companies and distributors to independent brokers.
This existing adoption gives the company a foundation from which to expand its product offering and commercial reach.
Funding to Expand Across DACH
The €2.8 million investment will support TODAY’s expansion across the DACH region and the development of additional capabilities covering both front office and back office operations.
The company wants to build a broader operating system for advisors, helping them manage more of their daily responsibilities through AI agents rather than relying on separate tools for individual tasks.
The participation of HTGF and Insurtech Gateway also brings investors with experience in technology startups and insurance related innovation.
Keeping the Human Touch
TODAY’s strategy centres on using automation to strengthen, rather than replace, the relationship between advisors and customers.
Co founder and chief executive Michael Gackstatter says the company’s objective is to let AI agents take over administrative work so that professionals can dedicate more time to clients.
As AI adoption grows across financial services, TODAY is betting that specialised tools designed around the needs of advisors will be more useful than general purpose AI assistants.
With fresh seed capital, thousands of existing users and plans to broaden its platform, the startup is positioning itself to become an important technology partner for financial and insurance advisory businesses across the DACH region.
