AI Meets Offensive Security in Bynario’s €2.1M Funding Round

Bynario has raised €2.1 million in a pre seed funding round as the cybersecurity startup looks to build a new layer of defence around one of the fastest growing problems in modern software security, knowing which vulnerabilities actually matter. Led by 360 Capital Partners with participation from Prana Ventures, the investment will support the development of Bynario’s AI powered security platform, expansion of its engineering team and work with enterprise customers.

Turning Vulnerability Data Into Action

As software environments become increasingly complex, security teams are facing a growing volume of vulnerability alerts across applications, open source packages, containers, firmware, vendor binaries and other components. Bynario is taking a different approach by focusing not simply on discovering vulnerabilities, but on determining whether they are genuinely exploitable and how organisations can respond.

The company describes its platform as a continuous security layer that discovers, validates and remediates exploitable risks across infrastructure, applications and the software supply chain. Its technology is designed to analyse software even when organisations do not have access to the underlying source code.

Bynario says its platform can assess vulnerability findings based on exploitability and attack paths, helping security teams separate serious threats from the large amount of noise generated by conventional vulnerability scanners.

AI Meets Offensive Security

The company is building its technology around the idea that defensive cybersecurity needs to become more sophisticated as offensive security becomes increasingly automated.

AI assisted software development is accelerating the production of code, while the same advances in AI are giving security researchers and attackers new capabilities for finding weaknesses. This creates a difficult environment for companies that must secure increasingly large software estates and third party dependencies.

Bynario’s approach combines artificial intelligence with offensive security research. Its platform is designed to understand software, identify potential weaknesses, validate whether they can actually be exploited and help organisations determine the appropriate remediation path.

The company says its systems can move from vulnerability detection to exploitability proof in less than 30 minutes, while reducing security noise by as much as 90 percent. It also highlights automated patching for open source vulnerabilities and exploitability based detection rules for software that organisations cannot directly patch.

Research That Tests AI Security

Bynario is also using its technology for its own vulnerability research. Its research team has publicly documented work involving both Apple software and the Linux kernel.

In one recent Linux kernel research programme, Bynario said its LLM driven pipeline autonomously discovered, validated and patched two vulnerabilities, including a use after free issue in the Controller Area Network subsystem and a page cache overflow in FUSE. The company used a combination of AI models and a structured process covering threat modelling, discovery, review and validation.

The company has also investigated vulnerabilities in macOS Screen Sharing and other software, demonstrating its focus on analysing complex systems beyond conventional source code based security testing.

Building Autonomous Software Security

Bynario believes the long term future of cybersecurity will depend on continuously understanding and securing software throughout its lifecycle. Its vision extends beyond applications developed internally to include dependencies, third party components, firmware and compiled binaries.

The startup says it is particularly focused on regulated and high stakes industries, including aerospace and defence, critical infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, financial services and government.

The €2.1 million funding gives Bynario additional resources to turn that vision into a broader enterprise security platform. With AI making both software development and vulnerability research faster, the company is betting that security teams will increasingly need automated systems capable of identifying the vulnerabilities that deserve immediate attention, proving their real world impact and helping organisations remediate them before they become incidents.
