For decades, millions of women have experienced menstrual and hormone related symptoms without access to reliable scientific information or evidence based treatment options. Conditions such as premenstrual syndrome and premenstrual dysphoric disorder remain under researched despite affecting daily life, productivity, and overall wellbeing for many women around the world. As awareness of women’s health grows, demand is increasing for products supported by rigorous clinical research rather than generic wellness claims. Netherlands based menstrual health company DITTO is working to bridge this gap by combining neuroscience, nutrition, and clinical research to develop science driven health solutions. The company has now secured fresh investment to expand its research programmes, product portfolio, and community.
DITTO has raised €5.2 million in Seed funding in a round led by FoodLabs, with participation from returning investor EKA Ventures and a group of angel investors.
The investment will accelerate the company’s scientific research, expand its evidence based supplement range, and strengthen its presence within the rapidly growing women’s health sector.
Building a Science First Women’s Health Brand
Founded in 2024 by neuroscientist and nutrition scientist Alice van der Schoot together with former L’Oréal Brand Director Adam Kugler, DITTO was created to provide women with trustworthy, research driven solutions for menstrual health.
The company combines original scientific research, expert education, and targeted nutritional products designed specifically to address hormone related symptoms.
Alongside its product development, DITTO has built a community of more than 300,000 women by translating complex scientific research into accessible information that helps people better understand their health.
Its goal is to empower women with evidence based knowledge while improving access to effective solutions.
Addressing an Overlooked Health Challenge
DITTO believes menstrual health has historically received insufficient scientific attention despite the significant impact hormone related symptoms have on everyday life.
The company highlights that many women experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, mood changes, bloating, cramps, and reduced concentration often receive limited clinical guidance or struggle to access reliable information.
It is also increasing awareness of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, a more severe condition in which emotional and psychological symptoms can substantially disrupt work, relationships, and daily functioning.
By investing directly in research, DITTO aims to improve scientific understanding while developing more effective interventions.
Combining Clinical Research With Nutrition
The company’s first product, Premenstrual Daily, has been developed using evidence from clinical research together with advanced nutrient delivery technology.
Rather than simply managing symptoms once they appear, the supplement is designed to help strengthen the body’s resilience before hormonal changes trigger physical and emotional symptoms.
According to DITTO, ingredients are selected based on the quality of scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness and formulated using technology intended to maximise nutrient absorption.
The company has completed an initial clinical trial of the finished formulation, reporting that a large majority of participants experienced meaningful reductions in menstrual related symptoms.
Additional larger clinical studies and real world evidence programmes are currently underway to further validate the product’s effectiveness.
Expanding Research Beyond Supplements
DITTO’s scientific work extends beyond nutritional products.
The company is conducting research into broader women’s health topics that have historically received limited attention, including the relationship between Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
By generating original research while translating emerging scientific findings into practical guidance, DITTO aims to become a trusted source of evidence based menstrual health information.
The company believes combining education, clinical research, and targeted health products creates a stronger foundation for improving women’s wellbeing.
Supporting the Next Phase of Growth
The newly secured funding will enable DITTO to accelerate ongoing research projects, expand its science led product portfolio, and increase access to its solutions across new markets.
Additional investment will also strengthen the company’s research capabilities while supporting continued growth of its educational platform and scientific community.
As women’s health receives increasing attention from researchers, healthcare providers, and investors, DITTO is positioning itself at the intersection of clinical science and consumer health innovation. By combining neuroscience, nutrition, and evidence based product development with a growing research community, the company aims to reshape how menstrual health is understood, researched, and supported for women around the world.
