German industrial AI startup deeplify has raised €2 million in a pre-seed funding round aimed at reshaping how critical infrastructure is inspected and maintained. At a time when industries handling high-risk assets continue to rely on outdated systems, the company is positioning itself as a key player in bringing automation, accuracy, and intelligence into inspection workflows.

Strong Investor Backing Signals Industry Confidence

The funding round was led by D11Z Ventures, with participation from Vanagon Ventures, EWOR, and several strategic business angels. This diverse group of investors reflects growing confidence in the role of artificial intelligence within industrial operations, particularly in sectors where safety and reliability are critical.

The capital injection will allow deeplify to accelerate product development and expand its reach across industries such as energy, oil and gas, chemicals, and transportation. These sectors are increasingly under pressure to modernise infrastructure management while maintaining strict safety standards.

Addressing a Critical Gap in Industrial Operations

Despite rapid advancements in AI-driven productivity tools and digital services, many industries responsible for maintaining essential infrastructure still operate with fragmented and outdated inspection processes. Workflows often depend on spreadsheets, static documents, analogue images, and manual reporting methods.

This gap creates significant risks. Undetected defects in pipelines, machinery, or structural components can lead to costly failures and safety hazards. According to deeplify’s leadership, the contrast between modern software capabilities and legacy inspection practices is striking.

As Europe’s chemical industry alone consists of approximately 31,000 companies facing ageing infrastructure and a shortage of skilled inspectors, the demand for intelligent inspection solutions is rapidly increasing.
