In a move that underscores the growing shift toward data driven health solutions, Bioniq has entered into an agreement for the sale of its assets to global nutrition giant Herbalife. The deal marks a significant milestone for the London based startup, which has been at the forefront of personalised supplementation powered by biomarker analysis.
Deal Structure and Strategic Value
The transaction is valued at $55 million, to be paid over five years, including an initial $10 million payment at closing. In addition, the agreement includes up to $95 million in contingent payments tied to future performance, reflecting confidence in the long term potential of Bioniq’s technology and business model.
The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions. As part of the agreement, Herbalife has also secured a call option to acquire Bioniq LAB, a separate platform focused on small molecules and peptides, providing flexibility for future expansion.
Building Personalised Nutrition Through Data
Founded in 2019, Bioniq has developed a science driven approach to personalised supplementation. Its platform uses a patented personalisation engine that combines individual health data, blood biomarker analysis, and a proprietary database to create tailored nutrient formulations.
The company has built one of the largest datasets in the category, with more than 6 million data points collected across five continents. This data enables its algorithm to identify micronutrient imbalances and deliver precise daily supplementation, supported by consultations and ongoing health insights.
Bioniq’s solutions cater to a wide audience, ranging from everyday consumers to elite athletes seeking performance optimisation.
Strong Global Presence and Partnerships
Headquartered in London, Bioniq serves customers in over 70 markets, including the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. The company has also established a strong presence in the Gulf region since entering the United Arab Emirates in 2021.
Its expansion in the region has been supported by partnerships with organisations such as the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Al Borg Diagnostics in Saudi Arabia.
Bioniq has attracted backing from investors including HV Capital and Unbound, along with high profile athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Diogo Dalot.
Leadership Integration and Future Plans
Following the completion of the transaction, founder Vadim Fedotov will join Herbalife’s leadership team, along with key members of the Bioniq organisation. This integration is expected to ensure continuity while accelerating innovation within Herbalife’s ecosystem.
Herbalife plans to incorporate Bioniq’s proprietary algorithms and formulation capabilities into its global infrastructure, which spans 95 markets and includes over 2 million distributors.
Expanding Access to Personalised Health
The acquisition is expected to significantly expand access to personalised nutrition. Bioniq’s products will be introduced through Herbalife’s distribution network, initially targeting select markets in Europe and the United States, with further expansion planned.
By combining Bioniq’s advanced technology with Herbalife’s scale, the partnership aims to deliver tailored health solutions to millions of consumers worldwide.
A New Era of Data Driven Wellness
The deal reflects a broader trend in the health and wellness industry, where personalisation and data driven insights are becoming central to product development and consumer engagement. Bioniq’s ability to translate complex biomarker data into actionable nutrition plans positions it as a valuable addition to Herbalife’s portfolio.
For Fedotov, the acquisition represents an opportunity to accelerate the company’s mission of making health measurable, actionable, and accessible on a global scale.
With the integration of Bioniq’s technology, Herbalife is strengthening its position in the evolving personalised nutrition market, signalling a future where health solutions are increasingly tailored to individual needs and supported by advanced data analytics.
