CLIMATEX AG, a Swiss textile technology company specialising in circular material systems, has secured €3.5 million, CHF 3.2 million, in a new financing round as it moves into a commercial growth phase. The investment was led by the Collateral Good Textile & Fashion Innovation Fund, with continued participation from existing shareholders, signalling growing confidence in CLIMATEX’s approach to eliminating textile waste through design-led innovation.
As the global apparel and interior textiles industry faces mounting pressure to reduce waste and comply with tightening sustainability regulations, CLIMATEX is positioning itself as a system-level technology provider rather than a conventional materials supplier. The company focuses on redesigning how textiles are constructed from the outset, enabling full separation and recycling at the end of a product’s life without compromising performance or aesthetics.
Designing circularity into textiles from the start
CLIMATEX develops advanced textile architectures that combine functionality, durability, and recyclability within a single system. Instead of relying on blended materials that are difficult or impossible to recycle, the company engineers fabrics and constructions that can be fully disassembled into recoverable material streams.
This design-for-disassembly approach allows complex products such as performance apparel and interior textiles to re-enter closed material loops, reducing reliance on virgin raw materials and significantly lowering waste. By embedding circularity at the product design stage, CLIMATEX aims to make recycling an inherent feature rather than an afterthought.
A strong portfolio of patented technologies
At the core of CLIMATEX’s strategy is a growing portfolio of patented textile technologies. These proprietary systems are designed to address one of the industry’s most persistent challenges, the recovery of multi-material products that traditionally end up in landfill or incineration.
The company currently operates at Technology Readiness Level 8, meaning its solutions are close to full commercial deployment. CLIMATEX is also actively involved in several European Union and Swiss research initiatives focused on circularity, collaborating with academic and industrial partners to advance scalable recycling solutions.
In recent months, the company has filed two additional patents covering next-generation textile technologies, further strengthening its intellectual property position as demand for circular solutions accelerates across global markets.
Leadership transition to support growth
Alongside the financing round, CLIMATEX announced the appointment of Camilla Skjønning Jørgensen as CEO-designate. The leadership change comes as the company shifts its focus from technology development to market expansion and commercial execution.
Commenting on the company’s positioning, Skjønning Jørgensen said CLIMATEX is addressing a fundamental structural gap in the textile industry. By rethinking textile construction at the product design stage, the company enables the creation of high-quality and durable products that are also designed for disassembly and recycling from the outset.
As part of the transition, current Co CEOs Adrian Obrist and Patric Rupp will remain closely involved as shareholders and board members, ensuring continuity in strategy and governance.
Scaling adoption in a changing market
CLIMATEX already works with international clients across apparel and interior textiles, providing recyclable fabric systems suited to performance driven applications. With sustainability regulations tightening and brands under increasing scrutiny to demonstrate real circularity, demand for practical and scalable solutions is rising.
The newly raised capital will be used primarily to strengthen sales and marketing activities, supporting wider adoption of CLIMATEX technologies as they enter a growth phase. The company plans to deepen partnerships with brands and manufacturers seeking to future-proof their product portfolios while meeting environmental and regulatory expectations.
As circularity moves from ambition to necessity, CLIMATEX is positioning itself as a key enabler of the transition, offering the textile industry a pathway to eliminate waste without sacrificing quality, functionality, or design.
